Terms of service
Bookties is operated by Appsibly, Czech Republic. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use the service.
The service
Bookties lets you track your reading and share chapter-locked notes with people you choose. It is provided free of charge and as is. Features may change or be withdrawn.
Your account
You sign in through Google or Apple and are responsible for keeping that account secure. One account per person. You must be at least 13 years old. You can delete your account at any time from the app.
Your content
Your notes and lists stay yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store them and show them to the people you share a book with. We do not publish, sell, or train anything on your content.
Acceptable use
- No harassment, hate, or content that is illegal in the Czech Republic or the EU.
- No uploading copyrighted book text; notes are your own words about a book.
- No scraping, automated abuse, or attempts to reach other people's data.
- No sharing an account with someone the book was not shared with.
Accounts that break these rules can be suspended or removed. Report abuse to hello@bookties.app.
Book data
Titles, covers and series information come from Open Library and Hardcover and are subject to their own terms and licences. They may be incomplete or wrong; Bookties does not warrant their accuracy.
Availability and liability
There is no uptime guarantee. To the extent permitted by law, Appsibly is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, or lost reading time arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Czech law.
Ending it
You can stop using Bookties and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for a breach of these terms, or shut the service down with reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.
Governing law
Czech law applies, and the Czech courts have jurisdiction, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
Changes
We will announce material changes in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Bookties after that means you accept the new terms.
